Meet the Truants, part 1: Akiko. Figured it might be fun to show some of the designs that went into creating the Truants, the featured characters of the newest arc of Morning Glories (starting in tomorrow’s issue 21, natch!).  So to kick things off, here’s Akiko! This was one of the very first designs I did for the book way back in June 2009.  I offered up three different hair and clothing ideas to Nick.  I saw Akiko as kind of petite and spunky.  He chose the middle design.  Her look evolved a little more on to the printed page and I gave her a plaid skirt.
